Self Promotion?

The downtown area where I work—Over the Rhine—is not exactly known for being crime free. (If you recall the Cincinnati riots in April 2001, we were smack in the middle).

I'm so used to the environment that not much surprises me anymore. But today, I was running errands at lunch and did a double take at one man hanging out on the corner, simply because he wore a shirt that read, "I got it for cheap," in large white letters.

Granted, the shirt could mean anything, but I couldn't help but smile as I continued on my way. How bold of marketing would that be if he was simply informing passerbys that his wares are available and inexpensive?
