This article in the St. Petersburg Times is one of the best commentaries on same-sex marriage I've come across. A small snippet:
"If we are going to start ranking the "sins," marriage between two gay people who love each other and seek a lifelong commitment doesn't even make the Bible's best-known top-10 list...On the other hand, you know what IS right smack in the Ten Commandments? Adultery."
This is worth a read no matter where you fall along the political spectrum. If this issue is approached with an open mind and critical consideration, I doubt we'd see as many states sucessfully writing in constitutional bans, as witnessed in recent elections.
