I come from a rather large extended family, and (ever since the aunts went high-tech) the annual email list of who's-bringing-what for Thanksgiving has started! Everyone who can make it meets in Lexington for a wonderful day of feasting. In fact, sometimes I try to fast the day before, just so there's enough room for at least a bite of every dish. I must say, this year's menu is shaping up to be no less than tantalizing! :
Two turkeys, dressing, country ham and biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, rolls, relish tray, corn pudding, frosted cranberry jello salad, broccoli salad, fruit salad, caramelized carrots, artichoke/spinach casserole, green salad, spanikopita, turkey cookies, jello jigglers, pumpkin pies, pecan pie, pumpkin tarts, swedish pineapple cake, pumpkin cake, and cheesecake, all topped off with a fine selection of beer and wine.
Note to self: buy pants with an elastic waistband...
