In more crime news, this time passed along from Kendall, comes the not-so-tragic story of stolen lawn ornaments. [Warning, this post's photo is graphic and should *not* be viewed by (brother) Doug, lover of all things duck-related.]To summarize this article: Lady's duck oranament loses head and her pink flamingo is stolen. Said objects, along with many other stolen decorative lawn items, show up on another lady's lawn overnight. Lady calls police and moves items closer to the street so the owners can claim them. Unfortunate timing of garbage day has all items taking a trip to the dump.
And the moral of the story is, please don't put a bunch of crappy junk in your yard, or it will find its way to the dumpster.
If only this theif would visit my neighborhood during the winter holiday season, when large, gaudy, light-up characters seem to proliferate...
