One of my favorite things to do on the beach is to pull a low chair just to the water's edge, open a good book and let the waves cool my feet as I read. I got through Bel Canto (Ann Patchett), She's Come Undone (Wally Lamb) and My Year of Meats (Ruth Ozeki), all of which I would recommend.
I only got into the first few chapters of The Omnivore's Dilemma, and halfway through our book on tape for the drive, The Shadow of the Wind. I'm hoping to finish these as well.
