We knew we wanted to outfit the basement playroom with a train table for the boys, but I wasn't in love with the look or price of traditional options. Instead, we picked up an inexpensive secondhand coffee table, and Doug got to break out his tools to adjust the leg height and secure a new top with ledges. A couple coats of paint later, and the train yard was in business.
